I am physically disabled, and I cannot always make it to a booked session. The new system automatically charges £2.50 for a member who doesn’t attend their sessions. When I received an email to say they are charging me, I was not happy. The staff at Places Leisure has been amazing. There is a note on my account to ensure that I do not get any charges. However, if one is to slip through the net, I just need to message and they will immediately remove it.

The staff have been extremely friendly and attentive. Five stars all round.

A great local leisure centre but disappointed to learn they’ve recently added on a joining fee of £30. Not ideal if you only want to use for certain periods of the year. If you let your monthly membership lapse you have to keep paying the joining fee. It makes it less good value and it’s a shame to see it becoming a lot more commercial under the new management given its council funded.

Awful treatment. Entitled life guard telling us to move lanes. We were adhering to the 30-40 second time to do a length rule and still told to move. We were too fast for the slow lane so constantly overtaking. Ridiculous! No other pool I have visited does this. At other pools you are treated like intelligent people working out which lane is best for you with guards guarding not judging swimmers on guessed speed! We were visiting and are unlikely to visit this unwelcoming pool again.

Inexpensive soft play which my children loved (ages 6, 5 and 2). Lovely service and a nice pool too. Great for a rainy day.

Great place to go. I use the gym most days. The equipment is adequate and the gym, when I go, is relatively quite and that is usually between 10am and
12pm. The pool is a great size too.

New Management..Nice gym. Has swimming pools for kids & adults, weight rooms, aerobic machines, building walls, and a fun playroom for the kids. Very affordable prices and friendly staff. Great prices for annual membership. Extended for another year ! New Management coming on board in a couple weeks. Large company - may see some great new changes . Looking forward to it! Now that they are here, new signage and some of the weight machines have been fixed and repairs done in the bathroom. Replaced soap dispensers and toilet paper dispensers as well.
Looking forward to new equipment installation in February as well as an offer to extend annual membership (12 months for price of 10 months)!!

Main swimming pool cold. Kids swimming pool even colder. Showers barely warm and stay on for about 1 second, 2 seconds if you get lucky. What can anyone achieve in 2 seconds when I’m trying to help my children? Changing area look like it might have been cleaned earlier this month. Predictably disappointing like every council pool we’ve visited recently but this one has been the worst. Should’ve gone to Berwick to instead. Holiday activity ruined.

The Blood bank comes periodically to this modern sports centre. Give blood if you can it’s an essential service.
