I absolutely loved my time at the Wind academy from start finish, all of the staff/teachers were so helpful throughout my journey in helping me achieve my goals and have fully supported me ever since…

My good friend Greg Dunford (Tricore utility services) set me up with the wind academy and I have since worked on a couple of huge projects showcasing my skills.

I have a background in fibre optics so I would like to give a special thanks to Simon Preston who pushed me to reach the next level with OTDR testing and is always on the other end of the phone when I require any form of assistance.

I had an outstanding experience with Lee and the team at The Wind Academy when I completed the City and Guilds Fibre Optics course for Offshore Wind back in March 2024.

Simon was absolutely brilliant—he had a fantastic attitude and was incredibly approachable. He welcomed all questions, no matter how big or small, and explained everything in a way that was easy for everyone to understand, regardless of their skill level.

I would highly recommend The Wind Academy to anyone looking for hands-on experience in Fibre Optics, including splicing techniques and cable preparation. They truly set you up for a career in the renewable sector. With Lee's extensive industry experience, he is able to guide and support you down the right path for your future.

I have completed a few courses here at the Wind Academy so far.
The courses are very informative and delivered very good.
I like how they are trying to get people trained and into the offshore wind sector.
This is very difficult with companies not willing to fetch in new blood but with the training I'm getting, it's only a matter of time I hope.
Big shout out to Geoff Briggs and the team!

Good introductory course into the T&T wind industry. Jonny delivered the course very well keeping everyone engaged. Great mix of theory and practical. I would recommend the course for people wanting to get an entry level of understanding of offshore wind.

I have to say i thoroughly enjoyed the course. The team have a vast knowledge which they share. It is not just about how to do the testing it’s also why and how things operate. I am not very good at absorbing a subject just by reading it and this course was very hands on and not death by power point. The test area set up is really good and simulates real testing on a site.
I had little knowledge of it before the course but have came away very confident. Even the lads on the course who knew quite alot all said they enjoyed it and came away learning something new!
