I bought a couple of Ruckus r310 AP's. The price was competative, but what really stood them apart was the after sales support. It was excellent. I run a gite business in France, small by their standards, but they gave me the after sales backup that I would expect if I was a very big customer - and I should know having worked in networking for a large american bank in a past life. Top marks. Only one small negative, thought the postage to France was a bit excessive.

We used DigitalAir for remote infrastructure support. In my experience, customer support has been unbelievably poor.

Due to the way that billing is managed, queries can take days before receiving an answer. In our case, each request had to be authorised by our billing manager, and if the allocated support time is exceeded, then even emergency requests get ignored. This sort of quota-based billing simply hasn't worked for us, and retrospective billing would have been much more suitable if it was offered.

Before we changed supplier, the last support ticket I submitted never got answered because of exhausted quota. It was urgent: over 40,000 attacks were infiltrating the network from China and the far-east. I ended up intervening myself by purchasing routers and switches to operate a private network within the building (apparently against the terms of service) to be safe from the attackers.

Furthermore, the customer support agents I have talked to are not experts in networking. On one occassion, a support agent was very rude after I requested the ability to access an internal machine through an external IP address. After trying to convince me not to do it, assuming I couldn't possibly have a reasonable use case, he claimed it was impossible, and suggested I do the networking myself. After saying that I would buy my own routers for that room, he said that would violate the terms of the contract and that our service would be terminated. By comparison, an IT company in another building I use were glad to assist me in this request, and I had access the next day.

After a call with one of their representatives, I have been assured that they have reviewed the quality of their support to ensure my experience does not happen again. Adding a third star for reaching out to me.
