I enjoyed the social media course with Nathan Shields. He went over and beyond. The information was well delivered and we were given an opportunity to put our theoretical knowledge into practice. Also we were given lots of extra resources to supplement our learning and advise and websites to find work and how to build our portfolio.

I had a concerning experience with Netcom Online and wanted to warn others. I applied for one of their free courses, and while the process seemed fine at first, things quickly took a strange turn.

After applying, I was contacted by someone from the company who asked for a lot of personal information, including my driving license (front and back), National Insurance number, and immigration status. It felt excessive for just enrolling in a free course.

When I completed the assignments required, I waited for over a week and a half to hear back from them. I eventually had to follow up myself. When they did respond, they told me my address wasn’t eligible for the free course, which was confusing because I had been told earlier that I wouldn't have to pay.

In addition to the confusing communication, I also received a voicemail that was unprofessional and inappropriate. The whole experience left me with serious doubts about their legitimacy and professionalism.

I strongly recommend others be cautious before applying for any courses with this company.

I have just completed the Social Media Marketing and Website Design course at Netcom Training which lasted 3 months and I have to say, it has been fantastic and im sad to leave. Nathan Shields led the course and I cant praise him enough, the knowledge I have recieved in a jam packed 3 month period has been priceless (coming from someone who has spent a ridiculous amount on university). He has been a great teacher, very engaging, supportive and has vast multi industry knowledge. I will also say that the whole Netcom team have been extremely helpful, from the admin team who got me set up on the course, to the employment support team (Laura has also been a great help). I would 100% recommend Netcom to everyone and I have been!

Stay away. They look like a scam. I signed up for a course with good intentions, and they called me asking for several personal identification documents. After that, they kept calling me repeatedly asking for more documents. A week after they had received all these private and personal documents, they called to tell me that the course, which was supposed to start in February, has been postponed to April, saying it casually. Isn't there any government authority overseeing this? How is this even allowed?

Mike was a really good tutor. He was really good at explaining things and helping you understand the content.

I have given this company 3 stars because the admin team are not very organised. Firstly, I was invited to an interview with a company that Netcom had provided for me however, I was told that they would get back to me with a date for this. I sent follow up emails regarding the date, as I did not hear anything from them for a while. Unfortunately, one day, the recruiter randomly called me to have the interview but I had no preparation time whatsoever because Netcom did not tell me the scheduled date for the interview. Hence, I performed very badly and did not progress on to the next stage. It was only about a day or two after the failed interview when I actually received the email giving me the date for it, but by then, it was obviously pointless.

Also, I had to chase the admin team to receive my certificate because again, my emails were not being responded to.

Overall, i’d say the courses aren’t bad in terms of delivery and content, so if you want to join to learn more about a topic, i’d suggest you go for it. However, if you want to join to get a job out of it, the chances are very unlikely as apart from the failed interview I had (which was about 2 months ago), Netcom hasn’t provided anything else since.
