After completing my CBT in Southampton, I was struggling to find somebody to complete my full license as nobody was getting back to me.
However within no time at all after talking to John I began training and passed my MOD 1 and 2 within no time at all with no experience riding a motorcycle.
I can’t recommend Thruxton Motorcycle Academy enough. I apologise for how long it’s taken to write this but wanted to say thanks again, John.

Did my direct access with John. Simple from start to finish! 2 weeks from CBT to a good level pass and now on my own bike!

Even got my daughter doing her CBT here now!

Would recommend.

Attended Motorcycle Academy took me from January to March to get my full bike licence from CBT to the MOD 1/2, all first time passes. I am very happy with how quickly I got my licence and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. It is very clear that John the owner is very experienced and has so much knowledge to give. He can be quite hard on you at times but it’s all preparation for the test which isn’t as difficult as I thought. I am glad I have taken the information and feel I have become a better rider for it. Only two negative, sometimes the dates set get rearranged last minute and on the odd occasion John came across patronising when I was asking questions. Overall fairly impressed with the school and recommend to others who wish to get their licence.

I've been riding motorcycles for years and decided to go from riding on a CBT certificate to getting my A2 license. Couldn't of had a better experience anywhere else, great way of teaching and great communication. Passed Mod1 and Mod2 with no faults during either test. Can't recommend enough, I'll be back to do my category A license soon enough!

I hadn't ridden a motorcycle for over 30 years when I turned up at the Academy for CBT in April so was a little rusty to put it lightly!
However, the instructors at Thruxton Academy- and particularly John- soon had me gaining confidence manoeuvring the bike around the cones, performing U-turns and emergency braking.
A month later I took the Module 1 training on the MT-07 Yamaha and that was obviously a huge jump in bike performance from the 125's, requiring a much more skilled approach with the clutch and throttle control. The training area for Mod 1 is second to none and that day's training was probably the steepest learning curve for me, in terms of controlling the bike competently.
That training day at Thruxton Academy had my confidence and skills boosted massively thanks to John's excellent instructing and experience, resulting in me passing first time at Swindon. 5 months later- due to work commitments- and I returned for Module 2. A quick re-cap and familiarisation on the 700cc bike and John and I were out on the road again. John riding behind, dropping pointers and advice in my earpiece, whilst riding around the local area, including Salisbury, was invaluable to me. 4 days later and I took the Mod 2 test. John's patience, guidance and constructive feedback improved my confidence and skills for the test, to the point that when the time came for my Mod 2 exam I was relaxed and confident, resulting in a first time pass.
I cannot thank John enough for imparting his riding experience, tips and guidance (and patience!)- skills I will build on as I gain experience throughout my biking years.
If you want a great value training experience to gain your motorcycle licence, look no further than Thruxton Academy.
5 Stars to John and his team.

The academy has a big flat practice area with nothing to bump into, apart from the odd cone, they set up the area just as you will find it on the MOD1 test, this gave me loads of confidence for when I came to the test itself. John is a great instructor and a nice fella, he will push you to be the best rider you can be and not to just pass your test.I pasted my MOD1&2 both at the first time and I have come away as not just a full licence holder but a better rider. Cheers John you're a star.

After almost cancelling my CBT due to serve nerves I am so glad I went ahead and braved it! Julie was a fantastic instructor and genuinely a lovely human being! I went from being scared to excited within a few minutes of training. Throughout the day my confidence just grew majorly and it’s all thanks to the amazing training Julie gave me! Will definitely be back to do my full bike test when I’m ready!!
