Recently rehomed a 14 month English Pointer. While he was a good dog it was pretty obvious that he needed some work especially when out walking. Initially he was rather anxious but that soon became less of an issue as he started to settle. What was clear though was that we were going to need some help with training especially recall, wait, stay etc. We were used to a puppy but this was definitely a different challenge. Kay came to the house and took the time to learn about us and our dog and what we wanted. She then worked with us over the next few weeks slowly progressing and getting some results. After 4 sessions we had some basics including a good sit, a good wait, a stay, basic recall. We still have more work to do such as walking to heel and consistent behaviour when meeting other dogs but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Added a video of his recall in a secure woodland. Thanks Kay

Kay and her team are amazing trainers. I've been going to the weekly obedience sessions, trained online recall through lockdown and also received one to one support for separation anxiety ... we've gone from not being able to go out without my pooch getting severely distressed, to 4.5 hours out with a chilled pooch and a happy owner. Follow Kay's guidance and you can't go wrong - thanks Kay!

We have done our puppy socialisation, puppy obedience, recall and now beginners training with Kay.

We have all learnt so much, it's not just the content of the classes Kay is happy to answer questions and volunteer information on all sorts of things a new dog owner needs to know, first aid items to carry and advice on taking a course, harnesses, fireworks, food, all kinds of little extras.

You can tell she loves what she does as it really comes through in her training. The classes are fun, informative and so my pup gets really excited when it's time to train. Kay is big on games so we she gives little games to play that all build towards building a relationship with your dog.

My pups recall is developing nicely, as is his lead walking and basic sits, down and waits. We are starting to learn skills now I didn't know you could teach, like pointing at where you want them to go and he is starting to get it.

My only regret is she doesn't do kids too! Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant place and so easy to book and use. Two border collies and a dappy doberman had a fantastic time up there.

If you've got dogs and you're nervous about letting them run round the park, then for the cost of a couple of happy meals they can have the time of their life here...

Myself and Four month old Nelson really enjoyed and learnt a lot whilst attending our first socialisation session with the lovely Kay whose training and obedience services were highly recommended to me. Nelson particularly enjoyed his first ever off lead supervised run around with other puppies in a secure outside environment and of course finding the hidden treats in the ball play pit came a very close second!

She is amazing! I thought I had read everything there was to know about dog training and what to do but Kay had really simple adjustments to our daily routine which was not disruptive but was so effective. Thank you so much!

K9 Haven is an enclosed field between the Blackwater River / Blackwater valley relief road and a water sports lake.
Online booking was quite simple, though the booking didn't show up in the online calendar. The gate code is something you have to ask for (there's a phone number so it should be quick - I booked for the next day so emailed and got a reply within 30 minutes).
There is a gate with a code to get in, a second gate between 2 car parks, an agility field (out of bounds for standard hires), a third gate to get into the first field and a fourth gate to get into the main field.
In the main field there's a tap and a water bowl. The gates are all standard metal 'farm' gates - about 3'6" tall. The fences are 6' high wire mesh with -~5" square holes between the wires. The boundary to the water sports centre is mostly hedge with the mesh in the hedge. The boundary separating the agility field and the 2 fields you have access to are wire fence. The North boundary is the mesh fence with a hedge - this is at the foot of an embankment that the main Farnborough to London train line runs along. The boundary between the fields and the Blackwater River is mesh with hedge. Our Podenco had a good run around looking for a way out, but didn't find one.
There is some noise in the first field of children enjoying the water sports park, but it wasn't too noticeable. There's noise from the Blackwater valley relief road in both fields - even though the traffic should be travelling at 50mph now the tyre noise is constant. The dogs didn't notice it but it makes communication between humans difficult if they are more than 50 feet apart.
There are trees in the hedges on both sides of the fields. This provides a useful amount of shade. There's a dry ditch running diagonally across the main field - our blond hound / labrador cross lated down in it a couple of times when she wanted a rest from fetching her ball.
We've been to an enclosed dog field near Chichester (when on holiday) - that field had a couple of water bowls that filled when drunk from, but the 'normal' water bowl in K9 Haven was cleaner. The level of shade was better at K9. The noise levels and visibility of the fencing was preferable in Chichester.
Overall K9 Haven was well worth hiring, I think we are likely to book it again, though working on recall with a Podenco may be a lost cause!
