Having been in a lot of pain with a neck problem for several days whilst on holiday I was advised to have some physiotherapy urgently. Searching the internet I found Janet Smedley’s website & called her & had two treatments in 4 days, the difference in my condition over those few days was very positive and got me on the road to recovery. Id highly recommend Janet and her professional and caring approach to physio treatment.

I visited Janet whilst in the lakes in August 2022 having sustained some sort of injury to my back that same week we were due to go. Was in so much pain there I decided to get her help or advice. I couldn’t even sit down for the consultation and lying on the bed was a nightmare but Janet was very kind. She knew from the state of me she couldn’t do hands on stuff as I was in too much pain so she did some ultrasound treatment to try and relieve the pain and suggested extreme care in any manoeuvres I did . Her expertise in this area was shown in that, if she had done anything more, it could have been detrimental to my back. As it happened, unbeknown to me I had a fracture in my back so she was right not to do any manipulation. Well assessed in my opinion. Since my visit I’ve come back to my physio guy here who is helping me to get strength in my back. Janet and I have been in touch since then because she’s helped me to make an appeal to my insurance company to prove how bad my back was and why I couldn’t go on holiday because of it. So thank you Janet for your aftercare as well as your expertise in your work. I would not hesitate to say to anyone who is over there near the lakes and has an injury of some sort, to go to her. Life saver!!!

Janet was able to see me quickly after I too a tumble on the mountain and badly twisted my ankle. She gently but thoroughly examined me, gave me some brief treatment and carefully strapped my ankle which enabled me to manage my long journey home.
Janet gave me a list of exercises to do to mobilise and advised the time frames for resuming exercise. She was clear but warm and empathic and I was very grateful to her.
