Iveing at Ambleside - Ambleside

We stayed for 3 nights as a large family group in both Iveing View and Iveing House. It was perfect. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped, clean and the best location on a peaceful lane but minutes from the centre of Ambleside. We were at capacity but never felt cramped. Plenty of bathrooms, clean, comfortable bedrooms with lovely bedding and beautiful views. Plenty of parking space but also a handy car park, if needed, just minutes away. We would highly recommend and we definitely want to return.

We have just spent a weekend at both Iveing View & Iveing House as part of a large group. Both properties are spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Both properties still felt really spacious even though our huge family filled both houses. It was a perfect location to be able to walk into Ambleside to explore, but set back enough so that it was quiet. The car park was ample, we managed to fit 6 cars but there is a pay and display car park really conveniently located down the road.
We all really enjoyed our weekend here and it was perfect for our needs, and I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the area. We’d love to return again!

Lovely house. It's old but really well maintained, just a a little bit careful with the change in floor levels in some doorways.
Well equipped kitchen, big dining room. Bedrooms clean and bright.
Really was a 5 minutes walk into Ambleside.
Can fit 3 cars in, but a bit of a squeeze if you have big 4x4s

Iveing House really is a gem. Its location on a quiet road, roughly mid-way between the town and the lake, is about as perfect as it could be and the accommodation has something for everyone, from large, airy double rooms to shared bedrooms. The communal spaces downstairs are comfortable and spacious and the large kitchen is well-equipped, although could do with a larger fridge. Overall a great place for large groups.

second time visiting the lakes, and we just had to return to the same house, as it is just perfect for large groups. Plenty of space / rooms/ showers (have tried them all and they are all superb!) Plenty of space for eating / drinking/ relaxing/ playing games. such a good location as well for those coming on the train, and so many hikes on the door step. we were never bored. ideal location for walking to windermere lake as well to paddleboard and swim. I cant wait to come back next year and do it all again.

I stayed at Iveing over a weekend supporting friends taking part in "The Lap" ultra marathon. My wife and I found the house very well appointed and nicely decorated. It's positioning within a short walk of Ambleside centre was perfect for our needs.
With the added advantage of it being dog friendly (Oscar our Labrador loved it there), makes this a perfect location for any breaks for Ambleside and the surrounding areas.

I had the pleasure to stay at Iveing House for a third time. An excellent place for family breaks or groups who are wanting to explore the mountains. Perfect location and is strolling distance from all the restaurants, bars and shops in Ambleside. Great access to many walks from the house and a stones throw away from the Lake Windemere. It was nice to see that our suggestions for improvement from our last visit were taken on board by the owners. Our group has already booked for next year - looking forward to it 🙂

This is a fabulous house with everything you could possibly need. A fully equipped kitchen, plenty of bedrooms, lots of showers which is brilliant when you have a houseful, beautiful views, perfectly located for walks and right at the centre of Ambleside.
