I have just completed the IDM's Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing. It was a lot of hard work on top of running a business, but it has been worth the effort. I learned a lot, which I'm already putting into practice. I thought the course tutor (Mike) was great, as were the facilitators, particularly Kate, Julie, Rob M and Rob T. All were experts in their field, giving with their knowledge and happy to share their own personal experiences. Thank you!

However, I was clearly informed of this prior to starting at a course open evening session. The modules, learning materials and assignments were in line with industry needs and challenges, with great references for further reading to support. The live classes were highly useful, interactive and great for engaging with other learners. All of this provided the required preparation for the exams. I want to thank The IDM for catapulting my marketing career. I felt a failure for leaving school unqualified, anxiety went through the roof when, in 2008, an employer asked me to study with the IDM for professional qualifications. The tutors as The IDM helped me build my confidence, whilst the course structure meant I could learn-practice, learn-practice. I passed the course and became professionally qualified in marketing. Letter after my name too! The qualification is only part of what has driven my success; training with The IDM has opened many opportunities, both in terms of job and connecting me to a network of marketing professionals, many who have become friends. My professional development has continued through The IDM; I was invited to join the Email Council of the DMA, and The IDM invited me to become a fellow. Thank you IDM!

I am so disappointed in the IDM, from the course material to the attitude of the staff have had towards me after I gave feedback. The IDM diploma is outdated, you will not learn anything useful and when I brought up a few weeks into the course that I felt it was so basic I was ignored, I once again approached them twice and they barely listened. I'm aware that I'm not the only one that feels totally ripped off by the IDM. I would suggest you seek learning elsewhere otherwise the IDM will have you drawing up marketing plans for donkey sanctuaries too (both assignments are the same) Very let down by them.

I've done three courses with the IDM, Social Selling, Hack Yourself and an online award in GDPR. Every dealing I've had with the IDM has been fantastic. Their prices are very competitive and the tutors are industry leaders. I cannot knock the service, price, or their fantastic location - the IDM come highly recommended.

I am halfway through the Postgraduate Diploma and I would not recommend it to anyone. The course content is made up of text only and is riddled with errors, with much of the content copy and pasted from public blogs or articles. The assignment we have been given includes stats which do not make sense and are unrealistic, making the assignment difficult to answer without losing marks for it being unrealistic and overachieving on the objectives. I have reached out to the IDM numerous times flagging the errors and the poor quality content, and most recently flagging the problems with the assignment case study. Normally, I get no response for days or weeks and have to chase, and when they do respond they just offer me their short courses for free which obviously doesn't help with the Diploma that I have invested £4,000 in plus months of work. They also completely changed the assessment format halfway through the course meaning that our course finishes 3 weeks later than what we originally signed up for (meaning anyone who has booked a holiday is in real trouble!) and that a large chunk of our final mark swings on just one exam. They didn't consult us before doing this and simply emailed us to inform us of this very significant change. The customer service is lazy, inflexible, and unreliable and I would never consider working with the IDM again because of this experience. I would recommend anyone to go with the CIM rather than the IDM for their postgraduate course. That way they will avoid the hassle of having to make sense of poor quality content, as well as avoid unanswerable assignments and unhelpful support staff.

This is a good introduction to Digital Marketing dealing with the main marketing tools. The lectures are delivered electronically and were recorded in 2016, so some of the stats in this fast-moving market are a little out. There is some feedback from a tutor but no marking or feedback on any of the practical exercises. Worse, they make little effort to help if you run into serious problems as I did with my company during the course. I could have frozen the course but kept hoping the problem was sorted. In the end I was dealt with fairly rudely by the course administrator and given a week extra. Find a course with better accreditation and contact to ensure a more effective training.
