Alex is an excellent tutor. He explain how the helicopter work, before we took off in a Robinson R22 two seat bladed single engined light utility helicopter. I had a go with the cyclic, then the hovering and rotation. We cover part of Surrey. The view is fabulous. So if you are a beginner or need a professional lesson, I highly recommend Hoff Aviation Ltd at Fairoak airport. 5 stars.

I had my first ever helicopter lesson with Hoff Aviation today. I was put at ease immediately by Alex Hoff and the whole experience was such a delight from beginning to end. Just the right amount of background and technical information to start with. Then getting the chance to use the controls myself as we were flying. Alex balanced the learning experience so well. I feel so encouraged to do it again and learn more. I had an amazing time. Thank you!!

I had a wonderful helicopter flying lesson with Alex at Hoff Aviation. He showed me around the helicopter explaining how it worked then we took off towards Guildford. At 700ft he had me on the cyclic whilst he operated the pedals. We flew over our house and then across Guildford Golf Club (my club) then across to Fetcham. We circled around across New Zealand GC then West Byfleet. Alex took the controls and executed a perfect glided landing with no engine. We then covered hovering, rotation with me using the pedals only, then collective only then both together. Alex then took controls and did a flyby where my wife was waiting for a wave and then a landing. This experience was fantastic and I will remember for the rest of my life.

Alex ensured a good balance of time between briefing on the helicopter and flying - including talking through step-by-step what I needed to do and when. Completed my Bell 505 Type Rating a few months ago with Alex, the whole experience was great and gave me a chance to brush up my flying, Alex is an extremely knowledgeable Instructor and the whole week flew by (pardon the pun)

I’ve completed quite a few Type Ratings over the 28 years that I’ve been flying, but Alex’s Professional Instruction made the time I spent with him most worthwhile.
