My daughter has been learning ballet with Miss Jakes since she was 4, and loves her lessons. She has a great, fun, teaching style - and doesn’t make ballet all about the pink! Would recommend danceworks as a very approachable, relaxed dance school that children will really enjoy.

My daughter started going to Danceworks in Sept 2018 and we have seen very positive changes in her. She was a bit shy initially but with Ms Jakes support and encouragement, she is very involved in her class and look forward to it every week. She even tries to teach us at home but mostly ends up throwing her hands in the air (unlike Ms Jakes, who is super patient with kids) . I would highly recommend Danceworks mainly because I have seen all the children enjoying their classes and that is what learning should be all about.

Great dance school for ballet, tap and contemporary. Miss Jakes is a wonderful teacher and really gets the best out of her pupils.

been at danceworks since 3 years old, it's the most lovely and sweet set of people and i have made the best friendships. lessons are always a great mixture of friendly joking around and working on skills, the atmosphere is lovely and friendships develop over the years. it's a very consistent and wonderful part of my week. all the love and thank you so much for the opportunities and shows i have got to experience through danceworks 🫶

My daughter joined Miss Jakes Ballet class at 3 years old, she loves going to ballet and has bonded well with both the teacher and her assistants. We especially enjoy being able to watch her perform at the end of each term and see all the things that she has learnt in the class over that term. We have been going for over a year now and will continue long into the future. Thank you to Miss Jakes for being such an excellent and supportive teacher.

I have been attending Danceworks for the past 10 years and I have loved every second! I think that Miss Jakes is very professional, friendly and she has been very beneficial to my learning here at Danceworks. She will give me extra tuition if in any doubt. Miss Jakes teaches ballet, pointe, tap, street and modern from preschool onward. She even teaches adult classes. I attend ballet, and tap and modern classes. I remember when I got my first pair of ballet shoes and now I am doing pointe. I also attend the performing group and love performing in the local community, and helping out during the Sunshine and Smiles dancing sessions. Every two years Miss Jakes produces a stage show in which all students take part. If your son or daughter likes dancing then this is the dance school for them! Emily aged 13 years :))

Fantastic dance school! Friendly, high quality classes with a real love for dance. Our daughter has been going there for 6 years now and not only achieves highly on RAD exams, she's privileged to know a truly inspirational teacher who welcomes everyone regardless of age, ability or body shape, and encourage the dancers to use their skills for good causes and charity events. Highly recommended.

Our daughter came to Ballet late (12) but was welcomed warmly by Danceworks. She has grown so much as a dancer in the last 12 months, ballet has also helped her in other genres of dance. The classes are friendly and encouraging, she loves them so much she now does more than her original class. Would definitely recommend this dance school.
