As a first time mum going through pregnancy during Covid-19, the prospect of effective antenatal classes was a hard one to comprehend. But then, through a friends recommendation, I came across Bloom Birthing and enquired for antenatal classes in a rather unique form.
Charlotte was very professional and supportive and explained how she could deliver the sessions in an alternative way.
As first time parents we asked for EVERYTHING in the package, we did not want her to leave anything out.
Our sessions ran into 3 appointments over 3 consecutive weeks and each and everyone was effective, informative and supportive of our needs and inexperience.
We were able to participate in two online zoom sessions, which consisted of need to know information and Q&A sessions to really see what we knew or thought we knew.
In the final session and as lockdown restrictions eased, we were able to participate in a socially distanced shared appointment with another couple, which was also a nice experience after not being able to leave the house and socialise for a very long time. By doing a session this way, we were able to engage further with Charlotte's lessons through acrivites, challenges and tasks to help us learn more of the hands on methods to parenthood.
One session that I truely feel helped me and made me feel most at ease was the session around labour. I felt so anxious, uneasy and scared of the unknown until Charlotte came along. Now, I can honestly say that I feel so calm, at ease and ready for the day my labour takes place.
What a brilliant teacher, what a brilliant service and what a brilliant experience throughout.
