We’ve just returned from our third stay at Ambleside Townhouse and it didn’t disappoint. Such a lovely B&B with pet friendly accommodation and gorgeous breakfast. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay very welcoming. I have just booked again for my parents and again the staff were very helpful. We stay here to visit my daughter at Ambleside university and absolutely love the Lakes.

Pleasant stay with my parents which was purchased as a Christmas gift. ||||We had 2 rooms, a standard and and small standard. One room was accessed through the front door and the small standard was accessed via the basement. ||||Both rooms were pleasant and clean. The standard room was larger and had nice views of the hillside. ||||The small standard sadly didn't have any views other than into he carpark. ||||The service was nice and staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious and there was a nice selection of fruit and cereals. ||||Overall a pleasant stay. I would recommend.

The townhouse is centrally located , but with plenty of parking and a great location to visit the many restaurants nearby. We stayed in a large room on the first floor which was very quiet, immaculately clean, with everything needed for a comfortable stay and a good night's sleep. Breakfast was a continental style buffet with lots of choice, fresh ingredients and constantly replenished. Hot food was served freshly cooked (and not from the buffet as stated in the above summary), with a good choice and great ingredients. Altogether fantastic value.

This was our 5th visit to Ambleside Townhouse and it won't be our last. The rooms are all spotlessly clean, comfortable and have everything you could need. The breakfast is generous and with plenty of options. Staff and owners are a delight to deal with. WE don't stay anywhere else now in the Lake District. Highly recommended.

Just stayed one night but found the decor and cleanliness of a very high standard. Stack were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of foodstuffs. Location is ideal for a stroll into the town etc. Would certainly stay again.

We had a lovely break at Ambleside Townhouse. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was large, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Tea/coffee and biscuits were provided. The breakfast menu was very comprehensive and everything was nicely prepared and very tasty.
I would definitely recommend Ambleside Townhouse as a place to stay. It's very convenient for local amenities, shops and restaurants. It is also very reasonably priced.

Overall we had a comfortable and relaxing stay here, the location is brilliant and the staff that we encountered were very friendly. The room itself was what you would expect for the price and we had a couple of good nights sleep.
Reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5 are that the bathroom door in our room had a large translucent pane of glass in it, meaning trips to the bathroom during the night lit up the entire room.
We also ate breakfast both mornings during our stay and felt a little underwhelmed by it, my partner ordered poached that came out undercooked.
I may have mentioned this to the staff but when checking out I wasn’t asked about how my stay here was which is unusual in my experience.
