I get trained as Gas engineer from here. This is the best training centre in UK I think. Brilliant Teacher's and staff. Worth spending money and Time here to get trained as Gas Engineer.

I left the Royal Marines after 15 years, having only ever known one employment. The gulf between careers seemed massive.
Brook house bridged that gap perfectly. The staff all have a genuine investment in your success.

The training and facilities are excellent and leave you well prepared for what you will encounter on site.

The work placement was brilliant and selected with care to put you in a strong position to complete your portfolio and ACS.

Upon completion Brook house provided advice and support to help me find employment…. 3 days later I was employed.

Can't fault this place at all. It was a great place to learn, the tutors were very knowledgeable and patient. It is a fast paced course especially if you have no previous plumbing/gas experience, but if you take their advice to revise and read the books provided it makes it a lot easier to take it all in.

My placement was a bit up and down. My placement was cancelled at the last minute but BTC had set me up with another but this could only be for a month. During that month BTC had kept on it and arranged a permanent placement who I am now fully employed with. Cheers Tim. When on placement I needed to get in contact with my tutor for a couple of questions. He was easy to get hold of and was happy to help. Cheers John.

All in all I am very happy that I chose Brookhouse and would recommend to anyone.

Stop thinking about doing the course and get it done.
I was a hgv driver for over 15 years no experience in plumbing and gas and was threatening to do the course for a while just wish I had done it sooner.
Please don't think u can just attend and pass coz u can't. If u put the work in and study u can pass and succeed. There was times on the course I was thinking how am I going to pass this and wish I hadn't of started it. But after the placement and studying it all sinks in trust. My tutor Chris is a top guy helped with anything I don't understand. Placement was very good I got took on straight away after passing my acs. It took me all in 6 months so it can be done. So it's been just over a year now that I've been employed, the company I work for have paid me to do cookes/fires/Lpg all qualified now. Also I have been doing some jobs of my own aswell. Get it done 5 STAR 100%

What to say..Direct to the point. I lost around 7k with BTC. Only reason why I chose them was that they offered a guaranteed placement. The issues-There were many. The sales pitch said that they provide ongoing technical support after the course. Whilst on the course, past students would ring the tutor to ask a technical question and he was unbelievably rude to the caller. The tutor would then “slag off” the caller to us. The point to take from this, we now have your money-no interest in you now.
So the course itself was average to good but not to the standard they sold it to be. Tutors do know their trade. The issues arise after the course, the placements. Nightmare..The first guy I was sent with had ZERO interest in showing me anything worthwhile. The 2nd guy was a “likeable rogue” who broke every rule going. I did follow up back to BTC, and was politely fobbed off. Other students (not all) on my course had similar placement issues. It died a natural death for me. I toyed with taking a small claims court action for a refund but didn’t bother. That I now regret. I expected a lot more for 7K.

Just to add, James the owner is a strange fish. Never came and introduced himself to us. Even though our course earned him 70k in revenue. Two courses on simultaneously so 140k…Remained aloof, and comes across as arrogant. Walks around the Centre like a peacock. Had ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO interest in us as students.

Just finished my 2 weeks training with Ned from Access Training… Alls I can say is wow! From start to finish Ned was amazing, his plumbing experience coupled with his teaching is second to none!
I’m a total novice to plumbing but after having been taught by Ned I can honestly say I’ve learnt so much in these 2 weeks. I’d feel comfortable doing plumbing jobs now.

Moving away from the training, Ned as a person is a special guy, he’s a legend. Anyone who is trained by Ned is a lucky person. Nothing was any trouble for Ned and he did his best to help everyone of us to the best of his ability. It’s a rare trait these days.
Wish nothing but the best for Ned!!!!

Fingers crossed we have him in sept for the assessment 🤞🏻

Avoid this place. Never seen such a disarray in communication between the training facility staff and its students but more concerning is the communication between the staff to one another! They keep you in the dark, change the goal posts on portfolios constantly without informing students or between themselves and show no care. This is massively letting this training facility down. The recruitment staff are great at first to get the sale but once they get payment you are then on your own. The instructors and examiners are great and cannot fault them very knowledgeable and good at their jobs.. I chose this place for the guaranteed placement but again let down by selection and would have gone elsewhere if I knew what I do now.

I appreciate the response you have left on my review nearly 10months down the line. You have not address my concerns and I would like to highlight what my feedback was regarding…
You informed students on my course the write ups they needed additional jobs to what we was first briefed on thus extending our time and efforts. This was not down to IGEM, but poor communication between staff as different staff members wanted different things covered, written, and advised making it impossible at times.
On HIT training due to snow you closed the centre down even though students set travel or stayed in hotels to carry out work and did not inform all students of this one of which was me.. I travelled 60miles in the snow nearly having multiple RTCs and got the the centre when the staff who lived around the corner or 5min drive could NOT get in to work.. other students at that time was livid.. please communicate with students. I did complete the course but what I find is very misleading and a con is being taken to one side by Tim or the other recruiter asking what it is we are looking for if it’s self employed or work for a company route to which you did not act on and put us with any ex students who came through who are self employed and no intention or interest or willing to have a student for portfolio write ups.. again I had issues with my placement and multiple times had to call BTC to speak to the engineer just to make contact with me..appalling. You did help with my CV and I am great full for that but these so called “ties” to British Gas that it was used for was again a con to get students through the door, even through the veteran recruitment pathway I went it never happened.. and while you changed the goal posts I was trying to get my cookers I missed multiple job opportunities with companies as you could not book me in and people who deal with the bookings were off on holiday.. in the end I had to quit due to the poor customer service of BTC and I have since found employment not requiring these qualifications gained thus making me feel it was a waste of £7000. I would comment more issues if you do feel the need to make contact. I do wish I could have had a positive experience but unfortunately this was not the case.

Personally not for me, Chris on the classroom was great, practical and theory spot on, issues come with placements, I emailed feeling I didn’t feel supported on placement and with my portfolio, no support was offered.
18 months later still not qualified as the issues I raised were not addressed and I now have no confidence in anything gas related and £7500 down the drain.
